4 Questions to Determine Which Jeep Soft Top You Need

Have you been feeling lost in a never ending field of Jeep soft tops? Trust us – you're not alone. Jeep soft tops are one of those Jeep parts that offer a huge variety, so everyone will be able to find one that suits their needs. On the other hand, having so many choices can make you feel overwhelmed and unsure that you're getting the best value for your money. That's why we're making it simple. Once you've answered these 4 questions (or less!) you'll know exactly which Jeep soft top is the best fit.

1. Do you currently have a Jeep soft top?

  1. No
If you don't have a Jeep soft top, you need an aftermarket option rather than a factory replacement top. One of the best choices for you is going to be the Bestop Supertop. Not only does it offer incredible function, fit, and style, but it comes with everything you need including hardware, the soft top, and windows. If you're looking for some extra features, like a sunroof, try the Sunrider or the Tiger Top. And that only took one question!
  2. Yes
If you already have a Jeep soft top, there are more possibilities available to you. Go to the next question to narrow it down.

2.Is your current Jeep soft top Factory or Aftermarket? (It's Factory if it came from the original manufacturer. It's Aftermarket if it was an add-on from a different manufacturer).

  1. Aftermarket
Jeep soft tops tend to have a lifespan of around 3-5 years, so if it's time to replace your aftermarket top, you'll need to replace it with another aftermarket top. You may want to consider using the same one so that all the same hardware applies. However, if you want something a little fancier, this is the best opportunity to upgrade. Check out our Jeep soft top aftermarket recommendations in part A of question 1. Or, if you have a Supertop, proceed to question 4.
  2. Factory
You may have the option of using a replacement top for your Factory Jeep soft top. Continue to question 3 to find out.

3.What condition is the hardware in for your Factory Jeep top?

  1. Rusted, Deteriorated, or Broken
If your hardware has fallen apart along with your Jeep top, the best thing to do is switch to an aftermarket model, because it will include the Jeep soft top and all the new hardware you need at a reasonable price. Check out our aftermarket recommendations for Jeep soft tops in part A of question 1.
  2. Good or Excellent
If your hardware is doing great and it's just your soft top that needs to be replaced, try one of the factory replacements available from Bestop, Pavement Ends, or Rugged Ridge. Probably the most popular is the Bestop Replace-a-Top. This Jeep soft top is one of the most economical options you will find.

4. Bonus Question: If you chose A in question 2, do you currently have a Bestop Supertop?

  1. No

  2. Yes
If you have a Bestop Supertop, you have the unique option of directly replacing your aftermarket Jeep soft top. You can get the Supertop replacement skin and it will slide right over your current hardware, offering a very simple transfer to your new top.
