But there’s another factor that’s sometimes overlooked — and that’s durability. Because your winch mount faces the same strains and stresses as your winch, you need to select a brand you trust.

WARN winch mounting plates

The simplest option for Jeep owners is a WARN mounting plate. These plates are quick to install and, depending on the model, are compatible with standard factor bumpers, factory tube bumpers, or the WARN Rock Crawler Bumper. WARN multi-mount systems

For more flexibility, you can upgrade to a WARN multi-mount system. With a multi-mount, you can use your WARN winch from the front or from the back of your vehicle. The components you need to make this happen are a bolt-on WARN front receiver and a rear-mounted winch carrier and Quick Connect wiring harness.

WARN winch front bumpers

Two popular WARN winch bumpers are the Heavy-Duty Front Winch Bumper and the Rock Crawler Front Bumper. The heavy-duty winch bumpers are made specifically for mounting a large-frame WARN winch on a Chevy, Dodge, and Ford truck. These all-steel winch bumpers have a one-piece, welded design that looks and acts tough. A concealed winch mount and round light ports are also incorporated into the bumper design. You can add on an optional tubular brush guard.

The Rock Crawler Bumper by WARN is a popular choice among Jeep owners. Tapered ends allow for maximum approach angles, and welded eyelets give you more places to mount D-shackles.

WARN winch rear bumpers

Warn Industries also produces Rock Crawler Rear Bumpers for Jeeps. These feature a built-in, 2” receiver for mounting your portable winch. Some versions of this winch bumper are compatible with the WARN tire carrier.

Modular winch mounts by WARN

The most versatile mounting choice is WARN’s Trans4mer Mounting system, a modular setup that allows you to pick and choose which products you want. The base Trans4mer kit includes vehicle-specific mounting brackets and a winch tray that’s compatible with mid-frame and large-frame WARN winches.
